Great radio for the price have a 17 ft boat just great for this size
Installed on my boat in 2009 and hasn't missed a beat. Works great and I connected my GPS to it for the added safety/convenbience of transmitting my position at the touch of a button.
For the money it does everything a VHF radio should do and more. Very easy to install.

Just what I was looking, and arrived very quick after placing my order. Very efficient.
Cobra should tell you that the radio is only for mounting on top of the console and for you to flush mount the radio you need to order the brackets Cobra sells for 20.00 dollars. It should be advertised as no flush mounting.
I use the radio on my personal fishing boat in the "Big Bend" of the Gulf of Mexico. My boat is under cover during periods of inactivity. The radio works fine and I have had it for approximately three years, however the display has gone so dim I cannot read it. I will have to replace in order to read the display, when the rest of the functions work fine.

After receiving a Cobra radio and a purchase of a boat that was still in the box I attempted to install it and it continued to blow fuses so I sent it back to the company or their representative and they refused to honor a replacement because I didn’t purchase it. I explain to them that it was something that came with the boat still in the box and I asked the previous owner if he had proof of it he did not but I still sent it to them so they could evaluate what was wrong with their product. I asked for a replacement or repair and they said they can only offer me a 15% discount because I didn’t have a purchase document. Are you afraid I stole it or you afraid it’s not traceable for the year it was built I don’t understand why you have such a horrible policy of supporting your own product. I will never recommend your product and I will let everyone know that you don’t stand behind it
